Progression
Progression through grades is governed by the student having attended a minimum number of classeshaving trained for minimum length of time between grades having reached profeciency in the syllabus requirements for the relevant grade. To progress the student will have to pass a Grading Examination at each level

White (beginner)Yellow (9th Gup)Orange (8th Gup)Green (7th Gup)Blue (6th Gup)Purple (5th Gup)Red (4th Gup)Red/Black Stripe (3rd Gup)Brown (2nd Gup)Brown/Black Stripe (1st Gup)Black (Bo Dan)Black 1st Degree (Il Dan)Black 2nd Degree (Ee Dan)Black 3rd Degree (Sam Dan)Black 4th Degree (Sa Dan)Black 5th Degree (Master)Beginner to Yellow 2 months.Yellow to Brown 3 months each grade.Brown to Black 6 months each grade.Bo Dan to 1st Degree 1 Year.1st to 2nd Degree 2 Years.2nd to 3rd Degree 3 Years.3rd to 4th Degree 4 Years4th degree to Master 5 Years.
